Since the jury couldn’t decide who is going to be the first place they said that the vocalensemble “LALÁ” and the group “audiofeels” both win.

As a winner of the competation LALÁ and some other groups , like “amarcord” (Germany), ” Luys” (Armenia), “audiofeels” (Poland), “BR6″ (Brazil), … performed at the “Gewandhaus” in front of 1.900 people. It was an amazing concert.

Another advantage of being the winner is a concert at next year’s festival. We are looking forward to singing there.

During those four days we meet a lot of new people and all of us gained unforgettable impressions.
Sunday morning we were expected at the TV- and radio-station, where we gave an interview and two audio samples. In the evening we sang the first concert. About 500 people came to enjoy some culture from Austria. The entertaining program motivated the young audience to sing the song “Don’t worry” together with us. They were dancing, clapping and singing. We had a great time as well and really enjoyed it. It was a fascinating concert and a lot of the people wanted to take pictures with us afterwards.

The next day started early because we went on a trip for about four hours to another city. In the evening we had our second concert at the Sheraton hotel.

On the 24th of May it was already time to say goodbye to Algeria and the staf from the embassy.

Last sunday we met to creat a programm for the “Lange Nacht der Kirchen” in Linz.

Our songs are mainly from the kategory “old music”, which better fit to the atmosphere of the old cathedral of Linz.

We´re looking forward to singing these many concerts in June.

Her formal musical education began in the primary school for music in Leonding. She was a member of the class and school choirs and made her debut as a solo singer at the tender age of eight, at the annual school concert.

Besides additional singing training in a Leonding folk music vocal ensemble, at primary school she also learned violoncello with Leonhard Harringer, together with recorder and guitar.

She successfully completed the lower grades at Khevenhüller grammar school where she was also keenly involved in the school orchestra, the school choir and in the school musical group.

A musical highlight was her appearance as a soloist at the Linz Klangwolke¹ at the age of 14. In the course of this engagement she also gained her first experiences in the studio with CD recordings for the Klangwolke.

For sixth form she changed to the renowned Adalbert Stifter grammar school where she took musical studies with Dr. Michael Wruss. Here the multi-instrumentalist devoted herself to piano lessons, was an active member of the school choir, and formed LALA – das Vocalensemble together with Julia, Mathias and Peter. During this time she was also a member of the Linz Jeunessechor under Wolfgang Mayrhofer and successfully completed numerous concerts, concert tours and CD productions.

During her time in the sixth form she began studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Even today she continues to have private singing lessons with her mother, Hildegard Krichbaumer.

Since 2008 she has been involved with the Linz regional theatre in a movement ensemble, the Extra-Chor and as a soloist. With LALA- das Vocalensemble she has made her name in the international a capella scene.

So it was a logical consequence that she also learned guitar from the age of eight. If that was not enough, from the age of six she learned violin with Wolfgang Michlmayr at the MS Steyr and worked on virtuosity with him for 12 years.

As a young child she was a member of the children’s choir and excelled in the auditions there.

She also worked on a few children’s CD productions by the composer Franz Moser. In the sixth form at the Adalbert Stifter grammar school under Dr. Michael Wruss she met her ensemble colleagues from the LALA-das Vocalensemble.

Like her LALA colleagues she took musical studies at the grammar school and had piano tuition with Martin Weiß and singing tuition with Hildegard Krichbaumer and Barbara Brettbacher. She gained extensive choir experience as a member of the Upper Austrian regional youth choir under the direction of Johannes Hiemetsberger, in the Linz Jeunessechor under Wolfgang Mayrhofer and in the Coro Carissimi school choir under the direction of Dr. Michael Wruss.

In addition to LALA- das Vocalensemble she sings in the “E Medo Cantus” choir under choir leader Tobias Chizzali. She ventured a short foray into the church conservatoire in Linz and had organ tuition with Professor Michaela Aigner.

Besides this she voluntarily gave singing performances in her parish, MV- Dietach, and at many weddings.

Today he looks back on this period gratefully, as the piano training from his early years provided a firm basis for his appreciation of music.

He attended the secondary school for music in Freistadt and in the school choir there he discovered his passion for singing. Along with his singing training he also learned accordion and trumpet there. As ‘TromPeter’ he was already involved in a jazz band during this period.

At the Adalbert Stifter grammar school he met his friends Ilia, Julia and Mathias. Their mutual pleasure in singing aroused Peter’s passion for it to the extent that that he would like to devote his professional life completely to music.

As a self-taught guitarist he also taught himself lyrics and song writing. By learning various instruments he gained an understanding of the various musical styles.

With LALA- das Vocalensemble he would like to achieve even more and to share this with the audiences.

At the age of seven he began to learn the trumpet. He was soon playing it in the local music band in Kirchschlag. In addition to the music band he also worked with the local church choir.

In order to expand and refine his musical skills he decided to take musical studies with Dr. Michael Wruss in the sixth form at the Adalbert Stifter grammar school.

It was there that he found like-minded people who shared his passion for a capella singing –with Ilia, Julia and Peter he formed LALA- das Vocalensemble.

In addition to music Mathias is also passionate about theatre and in this respect can look back on successful performances in the leading role as Lumpazivagabundus in the Kirchschlag amateur theatre, and leading roles in the Stifter school theatre.

Mathias showed his leadership qualities when, aged just 16, he took over the choir leadership for the Kirchschlag parish, becoming the youngest church choir leader in Austria and he successfully fulfilled this role until he was 19.

He has plenty of stage experience, both in theatre and also on the world’s concert stages. Mathias is currently studying to become a music teacher, and in the course of his training is also learning piano and guitar, amongst other things. His singing teacher at the university is Dr. Brigitte Berger-Möhl.

With LALA-das Vocalensemble he and his colleagues have developed an outstanding reputation on the music scene and can already reflect on numerous international and national prizes; of which there will certainly be more to come.
